Who We Transport
U.S. Air Ambulance staff members provide exemplary care for a variety of patients requiring transport from one medical facility to another. These cases include acute, emergency trauma or organ transplant cases requiring immediate air transportation within a very narrow window of time; as well as non-emergency cases which could be addressed with a commercial airline medical escort, medical rail transportation, or long-distance ground transportation.
Some of the 72,000 patients we have safely transported since 1990 include:
- Patients traveling to be closer to home or family, or because of health care coverage requirements
- Cancer treatment patients
- Specialized cardiac surgery patients
- Ventilator-dependent patients
- Burn, stroke and advanced head and spinal cord injury cases
