Money-Saving Options
We are committed to helping families safely transport their loved ones to and from medical facilities, across the country or around the globe.
Because medical transport is expensive, we offer options to help you save significant amounts of money while still receiving our world-class medical care and service.
- For patients who must transfer immediately by air ambulance service, our all-inclusive price quote will be competitive and is underscored by a low price guarantee. If you receive a lower quote from another company – for travel on the same day, to the same destinations, in the same type of aircraft – U.S. Air Ambulance will meet or beat that price.
- We offer the option of jets (the fastest and most expensive planes) as well as turboprops and twin engine aircraft which are less expensive, but are also fully medically-equipped and equally safe. If the patient can withstand a slightly longer flight, selecting this type of plane could save thousands of dollars.
- Aircraft often return to base empty after dropping off a patient. If your patient is flexible enough to schedule the trip a few days on either side of your intended date of service, we can perform a connecting flight and save you thousands of dollars by utilizing the empty plane on its return leg.
- If you can schedule your departure date in advance (five days or more), you’ll save from hundreds to thousands of dollars on jet ambulance trips.
- Stable patients may qualify for a form of transport that’s less costly than air ambulance. Our Flight Coordinators will help you determine if your patient might use a nurse escort trip by commercial airline, Amtrak, or long distance ground transportation. Nurse escort trips can offer the patient as much as a 50% savings over the cost of an air ambulance service.
- Nurse escorts are also available for international flights, assuming the patient can sit in an airline seat. For those who cannot, we can arrange for a medical airline stretcher in the rear of the international commercial airline, with medical support, for savings of thousands of dollars compared to an air ambulance.
The Flight Coordinators at U.S. Air Ambulance will gladly discuss these options in detail with you to help arrange the most medically appropriate transport at the very best price for your patient.
